Coral Reef are the most diversed of all marine biomes. Coral Reefs protect shorelines from the effects of hurricanes and tsunamis. There are three types of coral reefs they are Atolls, Barrier Reefs, and Fringing Reefs. Atolls are circular oceanic reef susurrounding a large,deep lagoon. Barrier Reefs are reefs that parallel the shore and are separated by a wide lagoon.the largest barrier reefs form on the edges of continental shelves. The third type of coral reef is the fringing reefs which grows close to the shore with a shallow lagoon or no lagoon at all. Coral Reefs are the most colorful and beautiful of all marine biomes.
